IELTS Letters for requesting information:
You often need to write a letter in your IELTS GT exam to request some information from a person you know or someone from an office you do not know. In such a letter, clearly state why you are writing and what specific information you need. Also, mention whether you would like to get the information on your email, office or home address, or via a courier service. If there is a courier fee, mention whether you intend to pay for that, and how.
Here are a few scenarios when you might need to write a letter to get some information.
# 1. Ask your manager which criteria an employee needs to fulfil to be able to apply for a promotion.
# 2. Ask your friend who studies at a university for information to get admitted there.
# 3. Request your teacher to give you the guideline to submit your assignment online.
# 4. Ask a hotel manager about the cost and facility for a week-long stay there for a group of people.
# 5. Ask the head of the department of a college for information regarding admission.
