Model Answer 1:
There is much discussion nowadays as to whether or not the relationship between family members is as close as before. Diverse contributing factors can be identified. In the following, I would like to present my point of view.
Great changes have taken place in family life along with the development of society. One of them is that the once-extended family tends to become smaller and smaller. Many children have to leave their parents at an early age to study or work elsewhere. As time passes, children become emotionally estranged from their parents.
Compared with the past, social competition is becoming increasingly fierce. People are urged to concentrate their efforts on their works so that they can achieve success or at least a good standard of living. As a result, they can’t afford to spend their leisure hours with their families. The importance of bonds of kinship is gradually fading from their minds.
In addition, the availability of various kinds of recreational facilities also diverts people from enjoying chats with the members of their families. Their free time is mostly occupied by watching TV, surfing the Internet or playing video games. They come to lose interest in communicating with the other members of their families. In view of such alienation within families, urgent steps must be taken, in my opinion. For members of families who live away from one another, regular contact on the phone can bring them the care that they need. Family reunions on holidays or other important occasions can make a difference as well. For those living together, it is a good idea to take some time off work or recreation periods to spend more time with each other.
In the final analysis, a close family relationship can surely be maintained as long as we realise the significant role it plays in our lives and we attach importance to it.

Model Answer 2:
In the past, people mostly preferred to stay in the extended families. Today, it is observed that many individuals have their own nuclear families. In this essay, we will discuss how professional commitments forced people for opting this kind of families. To tackle this, an organisation’s role will be analysed.
To begin with, individuals focus towards their career development to a greater extent. A good illustration for this is the group of professionals who spend most of their time in their companies. As a result, they do not have much time for themselves and hence, prefer staying in small families with less contact with other members. Thus, it is obvious that they are not much involved with other family members leading to the lack of closeness with them.
To overcome this, companies can play a crucial role. The first step which a firm can take is to provide the work from home access to the employees. By doing this, they will allow their staff to spend more time with their families. The other steps which can be taken include declaring holidays on all festivals and organising family day in a company. This will allow them to spend more periods with their families and hence, can help them to recuperate their relationships.
From the above, it is clear that hectic work schedule act as a major hindrance for creating close bonds with family. Therefore, the companies should allow remote work, increase holidays and announce family days at workplaces for enforcing individuals to concentrate towards their relationships.
Give some reasons why this change has happened and suggest how families could be brought closer together.
Nowadays many families do not share a close tie as was the norm in the past. In this essay, I shall share my opinion about this kind of shift and suggest how it could be reversed as much as possible.
First, many people, these days, stay away from home for their studies and work. Due to better education facilities and job prospects, many people migrate to cities leaving their families behind. It could be a possible cause for a loosely family bond. Even those who take their families with them can hardly manage family time due to work pressure in the office. As a result, they can not spend quality time with their children and other family members. Moreover, children, who are brought up in cities, hardly visit their hometowns and do not know their relatives in their extended families. Finally, with the widespread use of mobile phones and internet technology, people, even children, prefer to spend time in front of a digital screen rather than visiting relatives and socialising. All these reasons have deteriorated the family relationship that we have those days.
To change the situation and make it better, we need to start spending time with our family members. The authorities can help here by imposing strict office hours. Moreover, we need to visit our relatives as frequently as possible and take our children to their hometowns so that they know their cousins, uncles, aunts and so on. This would give them a feeling of belonging to the extended family. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we need to meet our relatives in person rather than just texting and calling them. Face-to-face communication always strengthens our relationship.
In conclusion, our family is important and that is why we need to make efforts to strengthen the relationship of the family members- both in nuclear and extended families. We need to cut our digital screen time and meet them in person and spend more quality time with them to make it as strong as it was in the past.
It is argued that the relationship between family members nowadays is not as strong as it was in the past. This essay will firstly see how smartphones affect family bonds negatively, and secondly, suggest some solutions for this issue, followed by a reasonable conclusion.
Nowadays, the connections among the parents and children, and among the relatives, is not as strong as they were in the past, particularly, in urban areas. There are many reasons for that but the main reason is the excessive usage of technology especially, smartphones and iPads and this has played a major role in enhancing the distance between family members. For instance, we see the parents and their children sitting in the same room without any connection among each of them because everyone is busy with their cell phones. Moreover, when they are going to spend time outdoors such as on a journey, each of them focuses on their phones.
However, more social activities and meetings between family members are the best way to make the family closer and stronger. When making regular social activities among family members, this will lead to increasing the bond among. For example, organizing trips or regular meetings weekly or monthly with relatives could be a great way for strengthening the bond. But this should be done without using any smartphone. This way, they will be nearer to converse together on different subjects. In addition, they can engage in different indoor and outdoor activities together and have as many conversations as possible.
In conclusion, we observe these days a big gap among family members because they spend too much time on smartphones or iPads. Hence they should be making more events and activities among them to decrease that gap.
