Sample Answer 1:
Dear Mr and Mrs Williams,
I hope you are doing great. It is a shame that we do not know each other very well and I would like to apologise for that. I am writing this letter in response to your complaint letter that you sent me yesterday about the noise from my flat. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and humbly ask for your forgiveness.
With concern about home safety, my wife and I decided to install a few smoke detectors in our flat, especially after we saw a devastating fire in our neighbourhood lately. We bought the devices from an online store and started to install and test the gadgets last Sunday. To ensure that the sound of the fire alarm is loud enough and everyone in the house would notice it, we tested the devices for about 15 minutes. Although the testing took place at midday last Sunday, my wife and I are terribly sorry that your child’s nap was interrupted.
I really regret the event and request your forgiveness. Please accept this box of chocolate as a token of my deepest regret for the inconvenience. We will be more careful next time.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Lesner

Model Answer 2:
Dear Mrs Barbara,
I am very shocked to learn from your letter that the noise from my flat has been a source of disturbance for you and it has been spoiling your evening and causing distress. I am utterly regretful about that. I had no idea that the noise would reach your flat and cause you trouble. Please accept my sincere apology and I assure you that I will be more careful from now on.
As you may have guessed, I am trying to refit my kitchen in the evening when I get back from my office. Unfortunately, it is taking longer than expected and I have been having problems with getting things to fit properly. The banging and hammering must have created the cacophony and I should have been more cautious.
As the kitchen work is still not finished, I have decided to call a professional after reading your letter. I will instruct him to keep the noise level as minimum as possible and the work should be done in the next two or three days. I will make sure he works only during the daytime, so you will not be disturbed in the evening again.
I am really sorry to have caused you the problem.
Yours sincerely,
Gorner Brek
Model Answer 3:
Dear Mrs. Martha,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing in response to your recent complaint about the noise from my houseflat. First and foremost, please accept my sincere apologies for any disturbance my actions may have caused you and your family.
I understand that noise can be disruptive and frustrating, and I want to assure you that I take your concerns seriously. The noise you have been hearing is primarily due to renovation work being carried out in the kitchen of my flat. I recently undertook a project to upgrade the kitchen, including installing new appliances, cabinets, and countertops. While these renovations are necessary to improve the functionality and aesthetics of my home, I understand that the noise generated from the construction activities may have been disruptive to you and other neighbours.
In light of your complaint, I am taking immediate action to address the noise issue. I will make every effort to minimize noise levels during late hours and ensure that any future activities are conducted with greater consideration for our neighbours.
Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and patience. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further concerns or suggestions.
Yours sincerely,
Howard Daniel
Model Answer 4:
Dear Mr and Mrs Smith,
Earlier today, I received your complaint letter regarding the loud commotions from my flat. It is a real shame that you had to suffer due to my oversight. I sincerely apologise for the incident and assure you that it will not happen again.
Last Wednesday I hired a firm to redecorate my place. The decorators had to relocate all my furniture to complete their work. They also used some heavy machinery to complete their endeavour. That is why you have been catching all these loud noises.
I understand that I owe you an apology as all these ruckuses were caused due to me and I should have informed you beforehand. Anyway, I do apologize, and I will owe you a cup of coffee for this. I hope we will still be on friendly terms after this incident.
About the sound problem, I have already instructed the personnel to tone down the noise level, so your apartment should already be relatively silent. I hope this measure is enough to appease you. By the way, the work will be completed tomorrow.
Thanks for your patience on this matter. Please come by tomorrow evening and I will show you around my freshly revamped flat.
Yours Sincerely,
Lisa Moon

Model Answer 5:
Dear Mr & Mrs Johnson,
I am writing in response to your complaint letter about the noise from my apartment. I feel that I have to explain myself and humbly ask for your forgiveness.
I am a student of the North Carolina Arts College, and as a part of my term final, I have to perform in 4 plays and play the flute and guitar. Therefore, I have to rehearse every day because I am eager to make a good impression on my teachers. To achieve my goal, I have been practising for about 3 hours a day for the last week.
I must apologise for playing at inappropriate hours. It was all my fault since I did not clearly know the rules of our apartment that prohibit playing any musical instrument loudly. However, I have consulted with my class teacher and he suggested that I should use one of the college rooms to rehearse for a small fee. I assure you that you will not be disturbed again by any means by the noise from my flat.
I request your forgiveness. Please, accept this box of homemade cookies as a token of my appreciation.
Yours sincerely,
Mark Arthur
Model Answer 6:
Dear Mr and Mrs Martin,
Hope you are doing great. I am extremely surprised to get a letter from you indicating that you are immensely annoyed by the loud sound created in my house. Admittedly, I had no idea that the noise would reach your house at all. I am writing to apologise.
Last Monday one of my windows in the kitchen was broken as a cricket ball hit it directly while some children were playing in front of my flat. I tried to refit the window in the evening after I got back from the office. It took me a long since I have no prior experience in this type of work and I regret that I did not hire a professional.
Unfortunately, I thought that the sound would not reach your home but it eventually did. Since you have suffered due to the noise, I sincerely apologise for this. Moreover, I promise I will be more careful regarding this in the future.
Once again, I am extremely sorry for any inconvenience that might have happened due to my negligence.
Yours sincerely,
Nayan Moore
Sample Answer 7:
Dear Mr Albert,
Hope you are doing great. I am writing in response to the complaint letter I received from you yesterday regarding the noise from my flat. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to you.
With regards to the noise, I am a final year art major student and my term exams are due next week. To clear the exam, we need to play multiple musical instruments with different songs. I am practising with a guitar and a flute to create a good impression on the examiners. I am remorseful that I was practising at night due to which you suffered. I did not realize I was so loud. I had words with my professor and he has allowed me to take one of the classrooms for practising in the evening. In the daytime, I will practise at my friend’s place so that the noise does not irritate anyone in the neighbourhood.
Once again, I am extremely sorry for any annoyance caused by my actions.
Yours Sincerely,
Akshay Saf

Sample Answer 8:
Dear Mr Thompson,
I hope that you are doing well. I am writing to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the party held at our residence last Saturday night. I am hoping that you will accept my apology.
With regards to the unexpected noise - it was created by the celebration of my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. You can imagine that we wanted to make the occasion really special to commemorate our parents' 4 decades of a beautiful journey together. I went to your flat to invite your family but you were away for the week.
We invited some close friends and relatives to the party and the gathering must have created the noise. I fathom the children were shouting loudly whenever they were presented with a toy. Moreover, they were running and shouting for fun. The music was also a bit louder and we realised very late that it might disturb the neighbours.
At such parties, I would ensure in future that the music is kept as low as possible and arrange some fun games for children that would keep them busy and less noisy.
Once again I would like to ask for an apology. Thanks a lot for being so understanding.

Model Answer 9:
Dear Mr and Mrs Taylor,
I sincerely apologize to both of you for any inconvenience caused due to the noise from my house, and thank you for bringing this to my attention. At times, we might not be aware of the problems we unintentionally cause to our neighbours, and I am hoping that you will accept my apology. I can assure you that I will take the necessary steps to prevent it in the future.
As you are aware, I am a musician by profession and my work requires me to do rehearsals before a performance at odd times. In addition to this, I also provide coaching to music students in the morning. Although, I am sincere about making sure that the noise level remains low and within the range of my property, it is quite clear that it was higher this time.
To address the problem of high noise levels, I have called a friend of mine who is an expert in sound engineering. He has suggested ways to contain this noise problem by installing noise cancellation frames on windows and doors and making the room airtight. It may cost me a significant amount but should work in the long run. Please know that making the modification to the existing arrangement will take up to a month.
I am afraid that you will have to tolerate noises for some more time, though I will try my best to keep it to a minimum, and hope that you will be agreeable to the proposed solution.
Again, I regret the inconvenience caused to you.
Yours sincerely,
Prateek Roy

I am writing this letter with regard to the issue you have recently raised about the noise from my house last Sunday evening.
The reason for that noise was that renovation work was going on in my house for the past week. The renovation process includes repairing walls and ceilings due to water leakage. Some drilling works in the walls was also necessary for the decors and sceneries we have recently purchased for our house.
I sincerely apologise for the trouble caused due to the noise related to the whole process at my home. I will try to reduce the sounds related to the work by having drilling-related work at the workshop. This will definitely reduce the sound produced during that process. Also, I will instruct the workers to close all the windows, so that any sound related to work is trapped inside the house and cause less trouble to you.
Thank you for your understanding and feel free to contact me if you find any issues in the future.
Kind Regards,
Akash Mittal

Sample Letter Answer:
Dear Mrs Manvitha,
I would like to sincerely apologise for the nuisance that was caused by us and the noise from the sound system of our flat.
We have recently celebrated our younger child's 7th birthday. My children are fond of rock music and on the occasion of the birthday, they did enjoy loud music in the evening. I understand the loud banging sound from the music system must have created the cacophony. Considering the current situation - where we all are stuck in our homes (due to the Covid-19 pandemic), music and movies have been the only sources of entertainment for my children.
I have taken strict measures at home and have advised the little ones not to increase the volume above 40 (in the Sony soundbar). I sincerely hope this solution will work and would not cause any other disturbance to the community or you.
Please let me know if there is anything else I could do from my end to fix this issue. I am remorseful that this has happened and I hope you will accept my heartfelt apology.
yours sincerely,
Pauline Jeswin
Earlier today, I received your complaint letter regarding the noise from my house. It is a shame that I did not notice that earlier and you had to suffer for that. I sincerely apologize for the incident. I also assure you that it will not happen again.
My house needed some emergency repair works since it has got old, and we have not taken care of its exterior for years. The servicemen we hired brought some machinery to complete their jobs while I was mostly in the office. This is the first time I have ever done the house repair service, so I did not know how to deal with the noise and how much noise is accepted.
I am not making an excuse but I will definitely try to figure out how to make less noise in the future. The repair work is going to be completed tomorrow, which mean you will no longer require to deal with the noise issue.
I truly want to talk with you to ask for your forgiveness in person. I would like to invite you to visit my new house this weekend. Let's have a cup of tea together.
Yours sincerely,
Fan Bass
I am writing this letter to apologize for the discomfort you have experienced during the past few days because of the noise from my house. I would also like to explain to you the reason for that. Please be assured that I will take every precaution in the future to avoid such issues.
As you know, I have been living here for quite some time now, So I wanted to do a bit of renovation to my house. In order to do so, I hired professionals to work on that. I remember instructing them not to cause any kind of distress to anyone. But it seems like they did not take it seriously. For the renovation work, they used different machines to make their work easier and it created such loud noise.
I sincerely apologize to you on their behalf for all your troubles. I have instructed them again to avoid any kind of noises, and from now on, I will overlook the whole renovation personally.
Yours sincerely,
Jack Naveen
I am very sad to hear that you faced some inconveniences because of my stupid action. I would like to seek your forgiveness regarding this.
I can understand your feelings, so I would like to give you some explanations to make you feel a bit better about the whole situation. Actually, it was my last day at the college where I was studying for a post-graduation degree. We wanted to celebrate it for the last time together with my friends as some of my friends would be leaving for their hometowns. Our enjoyment exceeded the limits causing you problems and sleep deprivation. We did not expect this to create a big problem for you.
I hope you will accept my apologies. We will make sure that we plan these kinds of parties in any other place where it will be far away from our dwelling units. Please consider this as my last celebration at home.
I hope you can understand our situation and accept this gift as a matter of making you feel happy.
Yours sincerely,
Kalyan K.
Write a letter to your neighbours. In your letter,

apologise for the noise
describe what action you will take.
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write your own address.
Dear Mr Peter,
I am writing to you with respect to your letter regarding the noise from my flat yesterday evening. I understand that this had caused you great inconveniences due to my oversight. I hope my little explanation would make you forgive me.
Last Friday at work, my boss announced a long-overdue promotion for me. Consequently, my colleagues planned for a surprise party with the help of my wife in my apartment without my knowledge. Generally, I’m not a fan of a noisy environment but out of excitement, I decided to join the party. Although it was within my control to take charge, lower the music and control the whole atmosphere, my emotion was taken over by the news.
My wife had been notified about this as well and we promise such incidence will not occur again, and if, we will give a heads up just in case and also avoid late-night noisy activities within the neighbourhood.
I humbly request you and Sarah to join us for dinner next Saturday at 7:00 pm to share in this joy and as a sign of your forgiveness.
See you!
Yours sincerely,
James Mular
I hope you are doing great and safe and sound amid this unprecedented pandemic. I am writing this letter in response to your complaint that I received via your letter dated 25th of June about the noise from our apartment last weekend. Please accept my sincere apology for the commotion, and I assure you that it will not happen again.
I sincerely apologise for this ineptitude, and I also promise that we will be much careful in future whenever we do something that might create some noise. My wife and I recently took a baby dog as a pet which had been perturbed with a heart-related disease caused by an unintentional overdose of a particular drug administered by the veterinary doctor. This has led to constant cries and noise among the puppies. However, in order to mitigate this excessive noise, an additional ten rounds of injection had been administered which will heal and restore the health momentarily.
Please accept my apology for any inconvenience this may have caused. It will not happen again. Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,
K. Daniel.
