Sample Answer:
The given bar graphs show information on marriage and divorce in eight countries for the years 1981 and 1994. As is observed from the presentation, the marriage rate in all the countries except Denmark decreased over time while divorce rate has increased in five out of eight countries.
As is presented in the bar graph, the marriage rate in 1981 in the USA was the highest among the given countries and that was more than 10 per thousand. In other European countries, namely United Kingdom, Finland, France, Italy, Denmark, the marriage rate was around 6 per thousand. Denmark had the lowest rate of marriage in 1981 which was around 5/ thousand. After 15 years the marriage rate decreased in all of the given countries except in Denmark, where the rate increased by almost 2/thousand. The only Asian country Japan had very little changes of their marriage rate.
From the divorce statistics, we can see that the highest rate of divorce was in the USA which was more than 4 per thousand. The divorce rate increased in 1994 compared to the rate in 1981 in all the countries except in the USA and Denmark. Italy had the lowest divorce rate among the given countries and there was no change of this rate for the given 2 years in Germany.
Overall, in many regions, the proportions of divorce increased while the marriage rate decreased.
As is provided as a census of a perusal, the USA had the highest rates of marriage among all countries with about 10 and 9 per thousand people in 1981 and 1994. In other countries, namely the UK, Japan, Finland, Germany, France, Italy and Denmark, these portions fluctuated near 6. In all regions, the ratios of marriage declined in 1994 when compared to that of 1981's data except for Denmark.
In the case of divorce statistics, the US had the most number of divorces in both years. In all areas, the divorce ratio increased in 1994 than in 1981 except in the USA and Denmark. The divorce situations were similar among Finland, Germany and France with a slight oscillation of about 0.2% from each other. The divorce percentage in Japan was near 0.1, which was lower than other countries but more than Italy. Italy had the minimum percentage of divorce rate- which was nearly zero.
Overall, the number of marriages per thousand decreased in all countries except for Denmark and the divorce rate increased in all countries except for the USA, Germany and Denmark during the given period.
As is seen in the given illustrations, the USA had the highest marriage and divorce rate among the given countries. The USA witnessed more than 1.2% marriages and just above 5 per thousand divorce rate in 1981. After almost 13 years, the rates slightly declined. The rate of marriage increased the most in Denmark. There, marriage per thousand people was 5 in 1981 which developed to almost 7 in 1994. It is interesting to notice that Italy by far had the least percentage of the divorce rate - almost 1 in two thousand people. Moreover, Germany was the only country where the divorce rate remained unchanged - exactly 2 divorces per thousand. And, divorce rates in Japan, France, Finland, Germany and Italy were comparatively fewer than that of the USA and the UK.
