Model Answer 1:
I don’t normally watch TV much unless I am interested in learning about some interesting or specific information or watch some news programmes. In fact, I mostly watch channels like National Geography, History Channel, Food Network channels and Travel Channels. But the other day, about a few months ago, my sister somewhat snatched the TV remote from me at our home and requested me to watch a programme – a serial drama that is – which she thought was very interesting. Anyway, I could have simply left my sister to watch the programme alone, but I thought that it would be a bit rude to leave her alone like that. After all, she was my only little sister. So, I started to decide to watch the programme with her instead.
The programme, the drama serial rather, was about a poor family, which was really struggling financially to manage the affairs of their finances. In fact, they were struggling to pay their medical bills, gas bills, and electricity bills because some of their family members, especially the two little daughters in that family, were spending a bit too much money on fashion, apparently, they were on a mission to become some famous model and eventually become very rich. But, the dream of those two little pretty girls just evaporated away when both of them failed to pass the audition, apparently, because they lacked the talents to become good models. Rather funnily, they blamed poverty for their lack of talent and thus their inability to become good models also. In brief, that was the story of the drama.
Needless to say, I didn’t enjoy the drama from minute one, primarily because the theme of the story didn’t quite go along with the costumes of the artists of that drama. For example, even though, it was the story of a poor family, but the dress and get up of its members looked like they belong to a high-class society. Besides, I found the dialogues and conversations among the artists rather vague and artificial as if they didn’t quite know how to immerse into the demand of the characters.
Sample Answer 2:
We usually avoid watching TV programmes that do not go with our preference. Since we have many TV channels to pick from, we change a channel as soon as we find that it is not showing an interesting programme. But sometimes we have to watch the programme that other people are watching and we do not have control over that. Thus we often watch programmes or at least a part of it that we do not like at all. One such programme that I have recently watched but did not like was a talk show.
It was a talk show programme on a TV channel named (…say the name of a TV channel…). And apart from the host, two political leaders who came from 2 opposite parties were also present at the show. Since this is a famous TV channel, I am sure a good number of people watched it. I watched it at a friend’s house when I was sitting in their drawing room and my friend’s uncle was watching it.
The talk show was basically a discussion and debate about a sensitive national issue, and the starting of it was somewhat interesting as the host of the program discussed in detail about the issue. Later he asked some interesting questions to both guests. After 5 minutes or so, I got the impression that the talk show was a scam and with this programme, the authority was trying to give some misleading facts to the viewers. The two guests started attacking each other and showed an abominable attitude toward each other. It was so shocking that respectable people and leaders like them can behave so abhorrently.
The programme went on and I found that I was completely irritated to see such type of behaviours from our national leaders. Moreover, the feeling that the whole programme was a sham also gave me a kind of vexatious feeling. I left the room before the programme ended and walked outside for about 30 minutes. After I returned, I found that the programme had ended and that was a kind of relief for me.
