Model Answer 1:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to inform you that I have recently received a letter from your bank, and an envelop which was supposed to contain my new bank card. Unfortunately, no card was enclosed in the envelope when I opened it. I am hoping that you would issue me another card and hold the delivered one to stop any misuse.
I have been maintaining a savings bank account with your Deportaire branch since 2018 and my account number is SA25874210. Immediately after the occurrence, I telephoned the bank to explain the problem, but I could not get through to the right department, even though I waited in line for over half an hour, which was extremely annoying.
In the letter, you asked me to acknowledge the receipt of the card, but obviously, I cannot do this as I have not received it. I am now worried because the lost card might cause trouble. What if the card is misused? Will the bank be responsible for that?
You should cancel or hold this card so no one else can use it. Please also send me a new card by secure means.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Beck Turner
Sample Answer 2:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to inform you that I was delivered an empty envelope which was supposed to carry my debit card issued by the Northshire branch of your City Bank. Since I have not received any card, I can not acknowledge its acquisition. I am hoping you would investigate how this happened and issue me a new card. Also, take measured to stop any misuse of the lost card.
I have been maintaining a checking account with your Lordshire branch since 2017 and my account number is CKL-54785120145. Recently, I requested a new silver debit card and when I opened the envelope yesterday, I noticed that the card was missing! Now I am concerned about the whereabouts of the card. If it goes to the wrong hand, it might be misused. To stop such an incident, please stop the issued card as soon as possible.
I would like you to investigate the reason for such an unexpected incident. Also, issue me a similar new card and this time allow me to fetch it from my branch instead of sending it via a courier.
Thank you in advance and I would like to hear from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Ryan
Write a letter to the bank's head office.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to draw your immediate attention to the issue that I have received an envelope from the bank which was supposed to bear a debit cart, but unfortunately, the card is missing.
I have a saving account with your bank, and my account number is 124578362. I have been maintaining this account for the last four years. Two weeks ago, I applied for a new debit card for which I have received the confirmation of issuance on the same day. However, when I received the courier yesterday, the card was not enclosed in the letter.
I have addressed the issue to the customer care executive of the bank. However, I have not received a reasonable response yet. I am extremely concerned about the lost card because if it went into the wrong hands, then it is likely to be misused.
I would request you to stop the processing of this card and issue a new card to me. Furthermore, I would like to collect the card from the branch instead of receiving it through a courier service.
Please give the matter your immediate attention.
Yours faithfully,
Sourabh Saxena
