Model Answer:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter in response to a recent vacancy announcement at your museum in which you have asked for people to do part-time voluntary or unpaid work. I would like to work for your museum as a volunteer, and I am hoping that you would give me the opportunity.
I am interested in availing this great opportunity because I think that it would allow me to learn some great skills to have a better career in the future. Besides, it would also help me understand many important parts of my country’s history which I would probably never know otherwise.
Regarding my skills, I have good computer skills, and I also know how to work well in a team environment with other people. Besides, I have taken an art history class in high school to help me understand and appreciate the value of artworks. On top of that, I also live close to your museum which would really make it easy for me to commute. So, if you choose to hire me for this voluntary position, I will work hard to add value to your team.
I am available to work every day from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm except on Sunday, and if you decide to hire me, I can start right away.
I am hoping to hear a positive response from you.
Yours faithfully,
Joseph Myer

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to show my keen interest in doing some volunteer works at the museum. I am pursuing my master's degree in archaeology, so working at a renowned museum like yours would be a dream come true for me. I am hoping that you would meet me at a formal interview and finalise my work at your museum soon.
During my bachelor's, I have participated in a similar charity programme organized by a district library in Rajkot, India. I also have some volunteer work experience, and I am passionate about museums, history and archaeology. Due to my vivacious nature and easy-going personality, participating in field-related discussions is my hobby. Even though I am not a proficient communicator, this opportunity will allow me to hone my interpersonal communication skills while also serving my position to the best of my ability.
Our course-final exams are scheduled to be held in the last week of March; thus, I can work for the entire January and February from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm as I have a job in the morning. Furthermore, on Saturdays, I can work the whole day.
I am hoping that you would be kind enough to review my profile and consider me as a deserving candidate for the post.
Yours faithfully,
Aksat Parekh
I am writing in connection with a recent vacancy announcement for voluntary work at your museum. I am interested in getting the job and serve my position with dedication and hard work.
Currently, I am a student at Victoria University and pursuing my Master's degree in International Cultural Studies. In the past, I have worked at the Royal BC Museum in a voluntary position for toe months during my summer break in 2019. I have both the practical and academic skills which I believe exactly match with the position announced.
I have gained lots of new skills and knowledge about the operation and management of a museum. For instance, I have detailed knowledge about the aboriginal history in BC which I can put to use to explain visitors and answer questions they might have. Also, I am very creative and can bring new ideas to life which can add value to the museum.
I am looking forward to meeting you in person for a personal interview. If I am selected, I would be available to start working from the 10th of December 2020.
Yours faithfully,
Harpreet Singh
