Sample Answer 1:
Dear Hans,
It was a pleasant surprise to receive your letter last Monday. I must confess I have not been in touch as frequently as I should have but you have never been away from my thought. I was thrilled to learn that your travel company is thriving gradually. I wish you every success in the coming days.
It was an honour that you have offered me a position in your company. However, I regret to turn down the offer as I have recently started working in a bank as a junior officer. This is a dream job for me and I am so happy to have been recruited there.
I wish I could have joined your company and work closely with you! It was a startup company last year and now it already has a second branch. I am so happy for you and I am sure you will excel in your business very rapidly.
Please convey my best wishes to Maria and your children. Why don't you visit us sometime and have fun like in the old days? Stay fine and take care.
Warm wishes,
Friedrich
Model Answer 2:
Dear Miller,
It is so great to hear from you after such a long time. Hope you are doing well with your work and family. Anyway, I am delighted and flattered about the fact that you have actually thought of me as a prospective business partner of yours and invited me to work with you at your travel agency.
By the way, I know how you have worked for several travel companies before starting your own company at a small office about 5 years ago. Today, with your hard works, and with more than 500,000 (in US dollars) yearly business turnover, your travel agency has managed to establish itself as one of the most successful small businesses and innovative entrepreneurs in our country. Besides, your customer retention rate is phenomenal, especially, among the travellers who fly to East Europe.
But, despite all this success of your business, I will have to turn down your offer to work with you in the capacity of a Deputy General Manager of your company, primarily because I can’t leave my elderly parents all by themselves in my town. Besides, I like my current job. Hope you will understand.
I hope we can meet soon and spend a good time together.
Warm wishes,
Kyle
Hope you are doing excellent! I am excited and thankful for your job offer in your company 'XYZ Limited' as a ‘Senior Technical Specialists’. I would surely love to join your company and I hope you would allow me three month's notice to my current employer. To be exact, I can join on the first of October.
I already know about your company - XYZ Limited, which is a reputed company in Information and Technology world with a billion dollars revenue club. In the past, I personally heard about very good feedback from a lot of my friends about the company. It has employee-friendly policies as well as good compensation along with flexibility in work hours. Besides, it has its presence across the globe and in all the major cities in India. No doubt, it's a great company to work in.
In my current organisation, I’m working on multiple projects which are very critical in terms of business. A few project owners are our decade-old clients. So, I need at least three months to hand over the projects and then join your company. Besides, I’m legally abided to serve three months' notice period with my current company.
I’m gratefully accepting the offer you gave me as I don’t want to miss this opportunity to be a part of such a fantastic organisation that will give me a good work-life balance. But, I’ll join after three months upon completion of my notice period here.
I look forward to seeing you in your office soon.
Yours truly,
Ajay
Hope you and your family are doing well. I've just finished reading your letter, and I am delighted as well as surprised to see the kind job offer inside of it.
First I would like to thank you for your kind consideration. I know you started this company just four years ago, and in such a short period, it has reached such a great height. I believe it was possible just because of your relentless efforts and rigorous decisions. Now it is a well-known name in the travel industry, and I wish soon it will become the best and one of the largest travel companies in our country.
No doubt, it would be a great opportunity and pleasure to work in your company, but I've decided to study further. For this reason alone, I would have to decline the fabulous offer. In fact, I have already got admitted to a Master's course at a university in London. I will definitely look forward to work with you after accomplishing my masters.
Hope you can understand my decision. Give my regards to your family.
Take care and stay safe.
Yours truly,
James
