Model Essay:
It is true that many elderly are likely to hold the traditional ideas about life which often seem incompatible to this modern world. While I agree that some old ways of thinking seem out-dated, I believe that there are many others which are still useful.
On the one hand, many ideas that elderly have about life are becoming irrelevant to younger generation. Equal gender rights legislation has had an immense impact on a shifting of traditional family dynamics. This has led to equal opportunities availability for everyone, regardless of their gender, in all the aspects of life. As in the past, men were solely allowed to do work, have career advancement as well as progression or to lead an organization. However, this phenomenon has almost had vanished to a certain extent in all egalitarian societies. Nowadays, women are increasingly taking up the role of their men counterparts in almost all the fields, by leading, shaping, and changing the economics, social and political landscapes. Another fundamental characteristic which is becoming norm is the sense of independence in adults. Youngsters tend to live separately from their families once they reached to a particular stage of adolescence. In this way they have become much more confident, economically independent and socially autonomous as well as self-sufficient. If these people didn’t allow to take their decision on their own about life, they would have fallen into the resentment, thus the sense of being overruled is go with a less productive generation.
However, there are still a handful of old ideas which are worth-considering to live a serene life. Firstly, politeness and giving respect to elders is certainly overwhelmingly important in this globalized world. Where we can expect to meet or interact with a variety of people from a range of backgrounds. That is the reason it has become much more important than ever to have a sense of community and neighbourliness. Secondly, doing hard work, taking pride in ones achievement, and having greater commitment to ones responsibilities are number of qualities which are consider a prerequisite to become succeeded in this challenging world. Hence, following these old conditions not only will allow students to become high achievers in their studies but will also help to transform them into a competent, productive and prosperous member of the society.
In conclusion, although people have turned their lives around to several contemporary way of living, other necessary old ideas are worth following.
